Patron and Donor Privacy Protection Commitment   

Alchemy Theatre Society acknowledges the individual’s right to privacy and is committed to protecting the confidentiality of its patrons’ personal information. Alchemy Theatre Society's privacy policy provides patrons with all of the safeguards standardized in the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).  

Alchemy Theatre Society does collect personal information in order to complete patron requests, ticket orders, donations and to enhance the theatregoing experience as much as possible. We may from time to time contact you by mail, phone or email. Depending on the nature of a patron’s relationship with the Alchemy Theatre Society, such information may include the following: home address, phone and fax number(s), email address(es), credit card number(s), date of birth, name(s) and age(s) of spouse/partner and/or dependents, familial relationships, a complete record of all tickets purchased and donations made, requests for brochures, and preferences or special needs identified by the patron, such as special-access seating or hearing assistance devices.  

 

Information Sharing

Alchemy Theatre Society does not to lend, rent or sell its patron list to any organization or individual. There are, however, certain limited circumstances where it is necessary to send patron information to select third-parties. Alchemy Theatre Society contracts third-party agencies to sell tickets, prepare mailings, and conduct research on its behalf. In addition, where required by law and/or for patron security, personal information could be provided to law enforcement. When we do provide your personal information to said third-parties, we provide only the information that is required in the circumstances. Information provided is used only for the purpose stipulated and is subject to strict terms of confidentiality. Some service providers may be located outside of Canada where personal information may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions.

 

Information Retention

 

Personal patron information will be retained and disposed of in a manner which provides security against unauthorized access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, disposal, or similar risks. Only authorized Alchemy Theatre personnel, and selected third-party contractors who are obligated to maintain this confidentiality, have access to this information. Personal information will be retained only as long as necessary to fulfil the uses stated above or as required by law. Credit card numbers and other credit card data are never stored directly by Alchemy Theatre Society and are only transmitted through secure servers by our third-party ticketing services who collect and administer this data on our behalf. Alchemy Theatre may in limited circumstances, request access to this information for the purpose of completing the requested transaction and solving issues arising from it. 

 

Patrons can also unsubscribe any time to stop receiving electronic communications from us by clicking the 'Unsubscribe' link at the bottom of any electronic communication you receive. Patrons may also review and correct their personal information at any time.

 

Consent to Collect Personal Information

 

Consent for the collection, retention, and use of personal patron information is implicit when patrons provide such information. Patrons have the right to provide only the personal information reasonably required to conduct their chosen transaction with the Alchemy Theatre Society.
